Why it matters
Known as Chhota Kailash for its close resemblance to Tibet's Mount Kailash; devotees who cannot undertake the Tibet yatra visit this Indian counterpart instead.

A 5,945m peak so closely resembling Tibet’s Mount Kailash that it is called “Chhota Kailash”. The sacred Parvati Tal and Gauri Kund glacial lakes sit at its base, and the site is part of the Om Parvat pilgrim circuit near the India-Nepal-Tibet tri-junction.
